The Monyul, comprising of Tawang and West Kameng districts of Arunachal Pradesh in the Eastern Himalayan region has a rich Buddhist cultural heritage Material ruins of large number of stupas, monasteries, sacred enclosures and pilgrimage centres are scattered all over the Mon region and some of them are more than 400 years old. However, the social and financial constrains have resulted into the neglect of these cultural treasures. In view of such a state of affairs, His Eminence the 13th Tsona Gontse Rinpoche established the Buddhist Culture Preservation Society (BCPS) at Bomdila, on 7th May 1987 with a noble mission for socio-economic and cultural development of the region. Over the years the Society has been working untiringly to achieve its commitment to the Society by chalking out its objectives and taking up different activities to achieve the declared objectives.
